Dear Colleagues:

On behalf of the organizing committee, I extend a very warm invitation to all scientists and clinicians with an interest in adhesive dentistry to attend the 3rd International Congress on Adhesive Dentistry (IAD) to be held on September 26-28, 2008 in Xi’an, China.

We have experienced two world congresses on Adhesive Dentistry successfully in the past in Tokyo, Japan, where the IAD originated for the brilliant decision made by the Japanese Society of Adhesive Dentistry. The First was held in 2002 and the Second in 2005, which have made a great contribution to the progress of dentistry. In recent years, remarkable advance have been achieved in both basic researches and clinical treatments, with the theme of "Adhesive Foundation and Clinical Durability", this Congress will provide a platform for world-wide scientific and culture exchanges. As well as the Olympic game to be held in August 2008 in Beijing, I’m sure that our congress will be another Olympic in the field of Adhesive Dentistry.

We are calling for abstract submissions for oral as well as poster presentations. Sharing the ideas of those who will contribute will open the doors for progress, as it will break the monotony of lectures being conducted in each respective group. Also, we are honored to have a select and distinguished panel of speakers attending from all over the world to share their knowledge and experience with us to make this a truly wonderful experience for all attending. I trust that experts and participants will usher in a new era in adhesive dentistry.

You can also take this opportunity to enjoy the beautiful landscapes and the friendship of the people in Xi’an. As one of the origins of traditional Chinese culture, Xi’an, a city located in the joint area of West and East China, boasts the Eighth Greatest Marvel of the world, terracotta warriors and horses. Also, it was capitalized for the longest time in ancient China. While visiting the ancient city wall and the mausoleums of the ancient emperors, you can also feel the rapid development of the city, which offers an intriguing blend of modern and traditional Chinese culture.

We look forward to your visiting to Xi’an and to join this important dental meeting.
Warm greetings!

Sincerely Yours,
Congress President, Ji-hua Chen Secretariat for 3rd IAD 2008
